Recommendation

Staff recommends Board acceptance of the Federal fiscal year 2014 Federal Transit Administration Section 5339 Grant Federal Award Identification Number (FAIN) 1024-2017-2 ($197,368.00), approval of the budget resolution, and authorization for the Chairman to sign documents as approved by the County Attorney.

Background

These are lapsing funds which were not previously claimed from Federal fiscal year 2014.   Annually, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) allocates capital funding to designated recipients for the purchase of buses, bus infrastructure and related equipment. These particular funds will be used to assist with the construction and maintenance of existing transit infrastructure (bus shelters and inter modal facilities) and the procurement of software and equipment to support deviated fixed route services.

 

The total FTA grant award is $197,368.  Matching funds must be provided in the amount of $49,342 and will be met with Florida Department of Transportation Toll Revenue Credits (intangible funds used as a local 'soft' match for Federal capital funding).
