Previous Action

April 25, 2017 Board of County Commissioners accepted a contract with the Florida Atlantic University for scientific evaluation of fish communities in the amount of $28,250.

Staff recommends Board approval of the 1st Amendment to Contract 17-05-339 in the amount of $29,000.00 and approval for the Chairman to sign all documents as approved by the County Attorney.

January 10, 2017 the Board of County Commissioners  accepted a grant from The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) in the amount of $54,750 through FWC Grant 16-145 to conduct a fishery-independent assessment of the fish communities on St. Lucie County’s deepwater artificial reefs using both fishing and diving techniques. The County contracted (C-17-05-339) researchers at Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch campus (FAU-HBOI) to conduct the research using SeaRover Services, the County’s last artificial reef consultant under continuing contract

The Public Works Department is seeking Board approval to amend the current contract with FAU-HBOI. An additional $29,000 is needed to enable FAU-HBOI to assume the tasks formerly assigned to SeaRover Services.  This will bring the total FAU contract to $57,250 ($28,250 (original contract) plus $29,000 (contract modification).
