Recommendation

Staff recommends Board approval of authorizing resolution and opinion of counsel and authorization for the Chairman to sign documents as approved by the County Attorney. 

Background

Annually, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) allocates funding for operating and capital assistance to designated recipients in urbanized areas with populations over 200,000. These funds are used to cover the expenses associated with the provisions of public transportation. In order to comply with federal regulations and submit applications for federal assistance with the FTA, St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners must provide authority from the Board of all annual certifications, assurances and authorizations.
